Current research

My research group currently utilizes the amazing infrastructure at the Colorado School of Mines to build, test, and optimize treatment approaches for potable water reuse applications, remediation of PFAS impacted water sources, and reclamation of mining impacted water. Current funding sources include federal and private funding agencies, private industry, and municipal drinking water utilities. Current research projects include:
  • Lifecycle cost and impact analysis of PFAS treatment technologies
  • Removal of short-chained PFAS by drinking water treatment processes
  • Impact of upstream wastewater treatment on advanced treatment systems for potable reuse applications
  • Evaluation of alternative potable reuse treatment trains
  • Evaluation of commercially available and novel adsorbents for PFAS removal
  • Destruction of cyanide in mine process water
